Spiekeroog/Frankfurt, February 4, 2022.
In the summer of 2021, the North Sea island of Spiekeroog was declared Sterneninsel accepted. During research, Nordseebad Spiekeroog GmbH came across the association of the same name “Sterneninsel e.V.from Pforzheim. In order to avoid possible confusion and possible restrictions in perception, the two institutions decided to use the same name for a good cause. This is how a cooperation came about between Sterneninsel Spiekeroog and the children's and youth hospice service "Sterneninsel e.V.".

The cooperation means that everyday life is made a little easier for the affected families and their relatives. Selected families have the opportunity to travel to Spiekeroog in order to mobilize their resources, get away from the extraordinary physical and mental stress and find peace and their own center again. The first trip as part of the cooperation took place at the end of October.

An exclusive fundraising campaign was intended to financially support the important mourning work of the children's and youth hospice service. For this purpose, Spiekeroog organized a unique and time-limited sales campaign of great constellations in November 2021. The Spiekerooger photographer Kai Kröger provided a phenomenal selection of images free of charge as part of this campaign. The photos were ordered from the company Zoom work printed on canvases in the highest quality and then sold. To celebrate the good cause, Zoomwork granted a 50 percent discount on regular sales prices.

A total of 67 pictures were sold during the two-week campaign. The proceeds, minus the costs for the prints, should then be donated to “Spiekeroog eV”. The campaign generated a donation amount of 4.140,77 euros. This was now presented to the Pforzheim club in the form of a symbolic check in a video conference with everyone involved.
