Kummer from Ötisheim supports social projects in the Ötisheim PZ region. With a generous gesture of 15.000 euros, the Ötisheim company Kummer, managing directors Jens and Wolfgang Hofmann, honored five institutions from Pforzheim and the region - thereby sweetening their pre-Christmas season.

The Lebensweg family hostel in Schützingen, the Auenhof in Bauschlott, the children's and youth hospice service Sterneninsel from Pforzheim, the advice center Aus-WEG?! Help for Life Pforzheim and the PZ aid campaign “People in Need” received a check for 3000 euros each from the two managing directors. Important for senior boss Wolfgang Hofmann: sustainability. The same institutions have benefited from donations over and over again for many years. “We know all the recipients personally,” says Hofmann. “And people are good with their money. We know this."

This is how the funds are used

How important the donations are is shown by the fact that the recipients have largely already budgeted for the money. The work at the Sterneninsel For example, it is divided into a hospice and mourning area. The latter is purely donation-based, as first chairman Thorsten Gieske explained. The money will therefore be used for the large area of preventive support for children and young people who have lost their parents. The donation at the Auenhof is invested in newcomers in a very practical way. According to managing director Stefan Finscher, the money will go towards a new goat stable to enable animal-assisted therapy. Dorothee Erlbruch, head of Help for Life in Pforzheim, would like to advertise a second specialist position for advice.

Life path initiator and managing director Karin Eckstein and donation manager Andrea Kienzle were grateful that the money was not earmarked. This means that the grant can be used where it is currently most needed - for example for employee wages. The donation is a “very valuable campaign,” said Eckstein.

Joy in helping

And Thomas Satinsky, chairman of “People in Need” and managing PZ publisher, is also grateful for the donation: “The Hofmann family with their company Kummer has been one of the loyal donors to “People in Need” for many years. We think it's great that you can rely on this annual donation before Christmas, even in difficult economic times." Jens Hofmann emphasizes that the donation is important for the company's basic principles. He is happy to be able to help. Wolfgang Hofmann added, addressing the donors: “You can expect grief.”
